Facilitating the return and reintegration of exploited Thai and Filipino migrants from the EU

The general objective was to help service providers to give better direct assistance to returnees to Thailand and the Philippines. This was done by enhancing the capacity of course participants to deal with the social and professional reintegration of return migrants. This would strengthen the coordination and referral mechanisms in countries of origin and of destination.
The course was mainly for representatives of governments, social partners and civil society with responsibility for policy development and services provision concerning the return and reintegration of Thai and Filipino migrants in distress due to exploitation in European countries.
It was followed by a meeting with key partners from Europe and the Philippines to establish a cooperative framework for a referral mechanism between service providers in Southern Europe and the Philippines regarding the return, integration and reintegration of exploited and trafficked Filipino migrants.
