Second training event for coaches in Ethiopia
The second training event for coaches in Ethiopia is taking place in Addis Ababa from 5 to 9 November. The programme is implemented by the Centre with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy and in cooperation with the EU-funded ILO project “Support to the Reintegration of Returnees in Ethiopia”.
Designed to provide coaching and mentoring services to returnees, with a focus on youth, the activity will provide follow-up and support to beneficiaries to help them to be more successful in starting and growing their own businesses. At the heart of the programme will be the issue of the psychological impact of stress and anxiety facing a new entrepreneur living and working with high degrees of risk and uncertainty.
The event is the third component of the programme and concludes a three-month certification process that included an initial face-to-face training and a distance learning component.
Twenty-six participants have been invited back to this second workshop, to work their way towards the final certification awarded by ITCILO. The lead trainers are internationally certified coaches.
The certificates will be awarded by Mr. George Okutho, Director of the ILO Country Office for Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan, and Special Representative to the African Union (AU) and the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) – who will also officially close the workshop on Friday.
