This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the global challenge of forced labour, with a focus on practical measures for its eradication. Participants will explore the legal frameworks, including relevant ILO Conventions and Recommendations, that underpin efforts to combat forced labour. The course will also delve into the socio-economic factors that contribute to the persistence of forced labour and examine best practices for prevention, protection, and remediation. Through a series of interactive sessions, case studies, and expert presentations, participants will enhance their capacity to influence policy development, advocate for legislative change, and implement effective strategies to address forced labour within their respective roles. Special emphasis will be placed on the importance of multi-stakeholder cooperation and the role of media in raising awareness and shaping public discourse around forced labour. Participants will leave the course with a solid understanding of the critical role they play in the global movement to eliminate forced labour and equipped with actionable strategies to support this goal.

The interactive course is intended for but not limited to tripartite constituents of the ILO committed to promoting decent work and eradicating forced labour, policymakers and practitioners responsible for the development and implementation of national labour policies, media professionals who have the power to shape the narrative and influence public perception and raise awareness on forced labour, parliamentarians engaged in legislative process related to labour rights., domestic workers and and staff and people interested in the care sector.
