Migration is a complex process that is directly related to and impacted by development policies.Mainstreaming migration positions migrants as rights-bearers and recognizes their freedom of choice to migrate—or not. This course explores migration, sectoral policies, and how to ensure coherence between the two through multi-stakeholder mechanisms.
Throughout the building blocks of this training, the M&D nexus is approached through the realities it entails both at the national and local level, while keeping into account international dynamics and actors. While not focusing on specific issues such as diaspora engagement, remittances, investments, which are not directly related to mainstreaming processes, these are nonetheless addressed throughout the different sessions that compose the training.
