Every year since 2014, the Centre has been awarded the International Eco-Schools Award Certificate (Green Flag) for its achievements in sustainable development education and management.
The International Eco-Schools Award Certification Programme, organized by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), is the largest international programme for sustainable schools. Based on ISO 14001:2004, it promotes environmental and sustainable development education for schools, universities and other educational institutions. With more than 50,000 schools and some 20 million students registered, it can claim to be the world’s most important sustainability programme.
Green Flag certification has recently been included in the strategic plan of the Centre’s programme budget for 2018-2019, as specified in Outcome 7.1 “Retention of Green Flag Status”.
