The official launch of the Centenary and publication of the report of the Global Commission on the Future of Work took place on 22 January 2019 at ILO headquarters.
The beginning of the Centenary year was marked by an impressive ceremony: the Director-General Guy Ryder, together with the officers of the Governing Body, cut a ribbon and walked across the new carpet to the stage in the middle of the colonnade to give their speeches. A large crowd of constituents and staff had come to hear their messages and toast the 100th anniversary of the ILO.
Among those present was former ITCILO director François Trémeaud, who met the present director, Yanguo Liu.
For 100 years, the ILO has been an engine of social progress and harbinger of peace, said ILO Director General Guy Ryder at the official opening ceremony. We can proudly add that the ITCILO has been its training arm for more than 50 years.
