This study was developed during the inception phase of the project “Promoting Rural Youth Employment in Afghanistan through Entrepreneurship Education and Vocational Training”, the aim of which is to provide a detailed analysis of the current situation in the country. It focuses on Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and on opportunities for skills development for young men and women in Afghanistan, particularly in rural settings.

It aims to offer a deeper understanding of the present circumstances, including an analysis of the risks and challenges but also, more importantly, of the country’s assets and rich potential. It will serve as a starting point for the development of training activities designed to upgrade the skills of young men and women in

Afghanistan, and so enable them to access the labour market.
