Introduction to the course

Challenging times call for visionary leaders. As demand for social protection continues to increase, the move to strengthen social protection systems gathers momentum. Advancing this agenda globally will require unequivocal resolve. This course aims to ensure that professionals working in social protection across the world are empowered to step up to the challenge to drive change nationally and internationally.

The aim of this course is to ensure that professionals working in social protection across the world are empowered to step up to the challenge of driving change, nationally and internationally. Through self-reflection, sharing of good practices and live interaction with peers and sector experts, participants will be able to hone core skills underpinning effective leadership for social protection. Successful participants will obtain a Certificate of Achievement that is eligible for the Diploma for Social Protection Managers.

Who attends this course?

The course is designed for experienced officials, managers and executives of social protection institutions, ministries, international organizations, as well as social partners and civil society who are tasked with designing and managing social protection programmes.

What will I learn?

Participants will engage in a week-long dynamic training and knowledge sharing at the ITC-ILO campus, connecting with peers from around the world. They will have the opportunity of learning from sector experts and thought-leaders, taking part in interactive workshops on organizational simplicity, negotiation and conflict resolution, and interview and media training.

The learning journey will provide a 360-degree exploration of leadership for social protection including:
