What is the microcontent about?

The Microlearning on Social Protection focuses on the most frequent questions and doubts that we invite you to explore:

  • Pill 1: Short-term relief vs. long-term support
  • Pill 2: Legal vs. effective Coverage
  • Pill 3: Benefits targeting the poor are poor benefits?
  • Pill 4: Only wealthy countries can afford comprehensive social protection?
  • Pill 5: Do cash benefits get misused?
  • Pill 6: Do people abuse the social protection systems?
  • Pill 7: Does social protection contribute to inclusive societies?
  • Pill 8: Social protection can address gender-specific challenges?
  • Pill 9: Unemployment benefits make people lazy?
  • Pill 10: Social protection: cost or investment?
How does it work?

Before you embark on an engaging learning journey through WhatsApp, where you will be offered microcontent to explore and have an AI chatbot to guide you, here are a few tips:

  • Join via WhatsApp
    • Access the microlearning by clicking the provided link or scanning the QR code (above). The conversation begins automatically, with no need for a trigger word.
    • The first cohort will be able to join the Microlearning any time from 29 January to 30 April 2025. Make sure you are among the first ones to join!
  • Automatic language detection

The chat will detect your preferred language—English or Portuguese—based on your phone number’s country code, ensuring a smooth and personalized experience.
  • Personalized introduction

After reviewing the terms and conditions, you will be asked for basic information, such as your name, to personalize your learning experience.
  • First “pill”

Once setup is complete, your learning journey begins with the first “pill”:

    • A short video introducing a common misconception or challenge about social protection.
    • A podcast conversation further unpacking the microcontent with research-backed examples and insights, providing additional food for thought.
    • An interactive activity, such as answering a question or exploring a scenario, after which you will be receiving feedback based on your input.
  • Flexibility and AI-guided experience

After completing a “pill”, you can:

    • Move on to the next pill.
    • Review the content of the current pill.
    • Interact with an AI chatbot to request guidance or explore further questions related to social protection. The chatbot will provide you with orientations and enhance your experience with further interactions. You can ask as many questions as you wish; interactions are unlimited. Bear in mind, though, the limitations of the responses that can be provided via WhatsApp and the fact that human touch is needed if your questions get tricky.
  • Exit anytime
    • Should you wish to close the interaction, ending the session, and come back to it when it’s a better moment for you, please use “goodbye” (in English) or “adeus” (in Portuguese). We will know you would like to come back and will save your progress so that you can resume where you left off.
    • In case you would like to permanently exit the chat and erase your history, simply type “erasemydata.” Please note that by using this option, you will not be able to come back to the chat, and all the interactions you had with the chatbot will be permanently deleted.

Enjoy your microlearning!

The use of AI-powered chatbot

The AI-powered chatbot in the ITCILO Microlearning is designed to enhance your learning experience by providing dynamic, interactive support. Drawing on a knowledge base composed of ILO and ITCILO publications, the chatbot answers your questions, suggests additional learning resources, and guides you through the content.

NB! It is important to note that while the chatbot offers helpful insights, the evolving nature of AI in re-elaborating information means its responses may not fully reflect the official policies or views of the Organization. For specific technical assistance or policy clarifications, users are encouraged to contact ITCILO directly via spgt@itcilo.org. If you have any questions regarding the use of new technology in our learning courses or concerns about your data privacy, please contact us at communication@itcilo.org

Remember, the chatbot is a supplementary tool designed to personalize and enhance your learning experience. It does not replace consultation with specialists or official technical guidance. For more information, refer to the terms and conditions available directly in the WhatsApp chat. We invite you to read them carefully before launching your learning journey. By using the AI-powered chatbot, you acknowledge and agree to its limitations and its intended role within the learning experience.

Once you join the chat on WhatsApp, you can also reach out to the support team if you encounter any difficulties throughout your Microlearning experience at suporte@weni.ai
