In the fast-paced world of global trade, where borders blur and supply chains connect continents, mastering the interplay between customs law, trade policy, and transport logistics is no longer optional-it is essential. These pillars not only shape international trade law but also ensure the seamless movement of goods across the globe.
The face-to-face training course Customs, Transportation, and Trade offers a vibrant and immersive learning experience designed to equip participants with cutting-edge insights and practical tools. Over an intensive week, participants will dive into trade defence measures, economic sanctions, international transport model laws, and the transformative potential of electronic transport documents. Guided by renowned experts, the course combines thought-provoking discussions, real-world case studies, and hands-on workshops.
Set in the inspiring atmosphere of the ITCILO Campus in Turin, this course goes beyond the classroom. It provides a unique opportunity to connect with peers and leading professionals from across the globe, fostering collaboration and exchange. This course is designed for:
- Legal professionals, consultants, practitioners, and managers with substantial experience in international trade law.
- Senior officials with significant experience in the public or private sectors, United Nations agencies, foundations, or NGOs.
- Experts in corporate legal departments, governmental bodies, international organisations, or academic and research institutions seeking to elevate their knowledge and skills in international trade law.
Learning objectives
This course will empower participants to:
- Grasp the role of international customs law in enabling smooth global trade.
- Delve into foreign trade policy and its wide-reaching implications for international business.
- Decode the legal frameworks governing the transport of goods, with a focus on the Hamburg Rules and Rotterdam Rules.
- Understand and apply the latest tools in electronic transport documentation, including MLETR and negotiable cargo documents.
Methodology
This is an intensive, one-week course requiring full participation and active engagement. Classes are held from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, at the ITCILO Campus in Turin. Participants will benefit from the guidance and expertise of dedicated coordinators and tutors.

The participation fee is EUR 2,545 (excluding international travel costs) and includes:
- Tuition and access to the eCampus platform.
