Success story: FAO East Africa storytelling workshop

In Kigali, Rwanda, ITCILO led a storytelling workshop for FAO communication officers and representatives from partner ministries across eight East African countries. The workshop focused on building skills to craft culturally-relevant narratives, conduct interviews and gather footage, and produce multimedia content.

A key part of the experience was a field visit, where participants had the opportunity to document FAO's poultry initiative in Rwanda. This hands-on activity gave them practical skills to effectively share local stories with broader audiences.

By the end of the workshop, participants not only acquired new technical skills but also gained a deeper appreciation for storytelling as a tool to connect, inspire, and drive meaningful change in development.

Why choose ITCILO?

  • Trusted by global leaders like ILO, FAO, and WIPO for delivering measurable impact.
