Throughout the world, women’s average monthly pay is around 20% less than men. As yet, no country has achieved gender parity.

There are many arguments for why companies should invest in advancing equal pay for work of equal value.

Closing the gender pay gap makes business sense and benefit both workers and employers, becouse valuing workers helps attract and retain talent, and increases performance and productivity. It also contribute to increased growth and sustainability of enterprises. But, more importantly, it is simply a matter of fairness.

Introduction to the course

Closing the gender pay gap: making the case at company level! This 45’ self-paced online module targeted to company managers does just that: it offers concrete tools to companies to make a change and tackle the gender pay gap!

The module highlights how equal remuneration can become an asset for business. At the end of the module, you will be able to:

  • Convey the business case for gender equality in pay within companies and their supply chains.
  • Assess the gender pay gap in a company and adopt equal pay strategies within the company;
  • Take action, learning from positive examples and successful experiences from other companies.

The module also includes international examples of measures and practices successfully implemented both in large companies and SMEs, offering inspiration and guidance on how to go further on the topic.
