The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development calls for increased efforts at all levels to enhance the coherence of social economic and environmental policies. The role and potential of social dialogue and sound industrial relations are crucial for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and, in particular, SDG 8 on decent work and economic growth.
Social dialogue is embedded in the 2030 Agenda. By facilitating consultation, coordination and negotiation among governments, workers, and employers, social dialogue fosters the enabling environments and policy processes required for achieving the SDGs. It also ensures responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels.
This 2.5-hour self-guided eLearning course provides a comprehensive summary on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the centrality of decent work in the 2030 Agenda and how to advance the Sustainable Development Goals through social dialogue.
