This course was developed by the ILO Vision Zero Fund initiative, with financial support from Nike Inc.to support participants in implementing the “Action manual and checklist for employers and workers in the garment and footwear sector to enhance workers’ commuting safety”. Specifically, it is meant to train and certify participants to improve commuting safety, primarily within the garment and footwear sector. Nonetheless, the knowledge and skills conveyed in this course can easily be applied to other sectors operating in urban environments. Participants will also be introduced to information and skills to develop action plans designed to improve commuting safety.
Participants from governments, employers' and workers' organizations, private sector companies (directors of human resources, enterprise advisors, plant managers and transport supervisors) , OSH officers and consultants, road safety officers, professional or industrial bodies, NGOs, and/or consultants interested in or involved in conduct a commuting safety assessment within and around the factory premises, and develop an improvement action plan.
This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills for promoting collective action between employers, workers and other stakeholders to address commuting risks faced by workers.
