The Online Global Workers' Academy on the New Social Contract offers a dynamic and collaborative platform for trade union leaders and representatives to engage with workers’ vision of a renewed, inclusive social contract. Anchored on the ILO’s core principles—social justice, decent work, equality, and workers’ rights—this academy addresses the pressing challenges and emerging opportunities in today’s rapidly evolving world of work.
Participants will explore key themes such as equitable macroeconomic and labour market policies prioritizing full and productive employment, fair resource distribution, and sustainable economic growth; strengthened social protection systems through universal access to essential services, bolstering resilience to economic shocks, and upholding the dignity of workers and their families; and enhanced workers’ rights and living wages by advancing collective bargaining, operationalizing living wages, and promoting fundamental principles and rights at work to tackle inequalities and facilitate a just transition.
The academy will highlight the vital role of trade unions and equip participants with a deeper analysis of workplace issues and challenges and actionable strategies to advocate for a new social contract through expert-led sessions, interactive discussions, and peer-to-peer learning.
