  • The role of the ILO: understand the impacts of the creation of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the first guidelines for the development and strengthening of labour administration systems.
  • Legal framework: explore international labour standards that define and guide labour administration, emphasizing a systemic approach to policy implementation.
  • Key features of labour administration: examine the key role and functions of modern labour administrations as well as portfolios they are entrusted, ranging from labour and employment to social security. 
  • Future perspectives: reflect on the evolving role of labour administration in promoting social justice and addressing emerging global issues and future challenges. 
How is the course organized?

he course is designed to provide maximum flexibility in terms of pace and completion time. Each participant progresses autonomously through the content, hosted on the ITCILO eCampus platform, at their own pace. 

Before starting your learning journey, you will be invited to complete a questionnaire related to the course content to assess your level of knowledge on the subject. 

Following the questionnaire, the course content will become available, consisting of five self-guided lessons that combine engaging content, interactive activities and practical insights:

  • Lesson 2. Impact of the creation of the International Labour Organization (ILO)
  • Lesson 3. International legal framework: a systemic approach to labour administration
  • Lesson 4. Key features of labour administration: mandate, role and functions
  • Lesson 5. The role of labour administration in achieving social justice and decent work

Upon successful completion of the training content, you will be invited to take a final test to assess your understanding. Passing this test will unlock your Digital Certificate for the course: the ITCILO Certificate of Participation.
