It is the task of the Board to approve the general lines of the Programme of the Centre and its budget. A report of its meeting is submitted to the Governing Body of the ILO.
Under the Statute of the Centre, the Board plays an important role in governance and oversight. The items on the agenda of the 82nd Session include consideration of the Programme and Budget Proposals for 2020-21, comments on the Interim Implementation Report for 2018, and discussion of a paper on the “Independent external evaluation of training and learning activities in the thematic area of Labour Migration”. Reports from the Internal Auditor and External Auditor will also be considered.
The Board is composed of 24 members appointed by the Governing Body of the ILO: 12 government representatives from Germany, Barbados, China, Ivory Coast, the United States, France, India, Japan, Mauritania, Paraguay, Romania and Senegal; six employers' representatives and six workers' representatives. The Italian Government, the Region of Piedmont, the City of Turin and the Unione Industriale of Turin are also represented. The Chairperson is the Director-General of the ILO, Mr Guy Ryder.
