The course is about the role of Trade Unions in addressing the needs of vulnerable groups of workers, for whom employment is often precarious and working conditions poor and paying attention to the inclusion of vulnerable workers groups within the TUs as an important transformation element.
The activity will focus on different groups of vulnerable workers attending regional needs and characteristics, for Asia and the Pacific we will talk about: gig workers, fisher folks, rural & agricultural workers and domestic workers (paying attention to child labour) and on how TUs can help improve their inclusion in the world of work and the working conditions of such groups. The course will pay special attention to the current regional formalisation strategies and its assessment.
