The Global Forum will open a dialogue focused on the key aspects related to the implementation of the MLC, 2006 Amendments (2014, 2016 and 2018) and their relevance in the aftermath of the COVID-19. The e-learning event will offer a well-structured update on technical issues and an interactive platform for an open discussion facilitated by international experts on case studies and good practices. The programme is designed to engage participants in immersive debate to discuss the tough challenges. Throughout the programme, innovative digital solutions will allow the participants to step back from their daily professional life and reflect on what the key issues mean in the maritime working environment.
Seafarers' and shipowners' representatives; ships' officers and ships operators; officials from Ministries of Labour, Ministries of Transport and other relevant maritime competent and regulatory authorities, maritime inspectors; placement and recruitment agencies; human resources managers in the cruise industry; surveyors from classification societies; trainers of maritime inspectors; officials from UN agencies and EU responsible for maritime related programmes.

More specifically, the three-day Global Forum will be an opportunity to update knowledge and to facilitate a better understanding on key issues arising in the context of the COVID-19:
The e-learning programme will be interactive and participatory and will be structured as follows:
Plenary sessions (tentatively from 13.00 to 14.00 CET) on key topics with the involvement of international experts
Group works including interactive discussions on case studies, facilitated by e-coaches, followed by presentation of key findings (schedule will be arranged according to the time-zone of each geographic group)
Wrap up (30 minutes)
The event is offered in English through the Zoom platform.
A good command of the working language is required as well as a good internet connection.
On completion of the Global Forum, participants will receive a certificate of attendance issued by the International Training Centre of the ILO.
A very limited number of fellowships are available to qualified candidates coming from eligible countries.
