This online course aims to assist participants working in the TVET sphere to strengthen the role of skills development policies and programmes in peacebuilding efforts through inclusive learning methodologies and the training of relevant core skills. This course provides practical guidance to trainers and managers of training centres on how to adapt training delivery to mixed groups, embed conflict resolution skills, cooperation, and other relevant core skills into training curricula, and create conflict-sensitive, inclusive, and diverse learning environments for all.
Perfil dos participantes
- Practitioners such as ILO constituents involved in the delivery processes of skills policies and programmes in fragile contexts. This includes practitioners involved in different stages of programme delivery including curriculum and module development, syllabus design, and training and assessment of learning. It is equally beneficial for experienced trainers and those at the early stages of their career. - Organisations (public/private) including workers' and employers' organizations that provide skills development programmes as part of efforts to promote social cohesion and peacebuilding.

- Module 1: The role and potential of skills development in peaceful coexistence and social cohesion
- Module 2: The role of the trainer in fragile environments
- Module 3: Methods and cross-curricular strategies that promote core skills for social inclusion
- Module 4: Work-based learning and support services to ensure participation in vocational training classes
- Module 5: Training the Trainers and Instruments for Impact Measurement
Objectives
By the end of the training programme, the participants will have the tools to:
- Understand how skills and employment policies and programmes relate to peacebuilding and social cohesion. Identify core skills that contribute to social cohesion.
- Analyse the context and specific needs of training participants through a conflictsensitive lens.
- Help shape peaceful narratives.
- Promote enabling learning environments.
- Design and implement conflict-sensitive training programmes.
- Develop concrete strategies and activities to impart skills for social cohesion in fragile contexts to participants.
- Facilitate learners’ access to support services to facilitate their transition into the labour market.
- Measure the impact of socially cohesive TVET training in terms of trainees’ employability and their capacity to contribute to social cohesion and peaceful coexistence in their communities.
- Deliver the ILO Guide on Promoting Social Cohesion and Peaceful Coexistence in Fragile Contexts through TVET to trainers
